If you’re thinking of having a romantic, stress free elopement to this beautiful little country of ours then consider this location … Redhall Estate in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The intimate scene was set in the old stone barn where the softest of light poured through the windows, even on a rainy overcast day. You may recognise it as the ‘Crossroads Inn’ from Game of Thrones. The ceremony was in the barn where the couple were surrounded by the soft light light of candles flickering as they exchanged rings. They then feasted on a medieval style picnic with locally supplied cheeses, freshly baked bread and home made pies and fresh fruit. This was followed by a delicious naked sponge cake. It was exactly as I had envisioned in my head, only better. Working with a talented team of creatives made this shoot an absolute favourite. The couple are a real engaged, loved up couple who really brought the story to life.
I had wanted to do this photoshoot ever since photographying a real wedding in the main house at Redhall. The couple were big fans of Game of Thrones and wanted to get some photos at this exclusive filming location. When I saw how amazing the light was and the unique location, I knew I would be back… I have very fond memories of Redhall as I spent a lot of my childhood there, mostly riding ponies through the woodland. It wouldn’t have happened of course without all of those involved. I would like to thank the creative team and suppliers who helped make my vision come to life.
